BRIDGETON, N.J. –

CompleteCare Health Network is pleased to announce that they were the 2018 recipient of the New Jersey Primary Care Association’s (NJPCA) Maverick Pioneer and Share Award.

This award, presented in October at NJPCA’s 2018 Annual Conference in Atlantic City, was to honor CompleteCare’s efforts to bring mental health services to community health centers in New Jersey.

“NJPCA is proud to recognize CompleteCare Health Network with the Maverick Award,” said Jillian Hudspeth, NJPCA President and CEO. “CompleteCare Health Network has been a true pioneer. They have paved the way for expanded healthcare in the State of New Jersey. Not only were they the first Federally Qualified Health Center in New Jersey to break through bureaucratic obstacles, significantly, they actively shared their work product so that other Community Health Centers could provide expanded mental health services as well.”

In 2017 CompleteCare Health Network became the first community health center in New Jersey to begin offering mental health services in their health centers. Since starting their program, other community health centers in the state have been able to do the same; expanding care to include much-needed psychiatric services to treat disorders like generalized anxiety, depression, attention (ADD/ADHD), personality disorders and various chronic psychiatric illnesses.

CompleteCare Health Network continues to strive to be a pioneer in the area of mental health. Last October, they also became one of the first community health centers in New Jersey to offer medication assisted treatment services in their centers, treating patients for opioid addiction.

“We are very appreciative that NJPCA recognized our efforts with the 2018 Maverick Award,” said J. Curtis Edwards, President & CEO of CompleteCare Health Network. “At CompleteCare we strive to consistently bring new services to our patients and our growth in the areas of mental health and substance abuse is something we are incredibly proud of.”

NJPCA is the organization that represents the 24 Community Health Centers and 134 satellite community-based ambulatory healthcare facilities throughout the state of New Jersey.
