This session provides information on how to track federal grant funds, document expenditures, and provide adequate supporting documentation. HRSA will provide on time and effort reporting information, including acceptable forms of documentation. HRSA will also discuss allowability of costs and share resources and best practices for effectively managing your grants.

MCO Update Session

This session is an accelerated one-on-one opportunity for Health Centers to problem-solve with the MCOs. Each MCO will have time with the Health Centers to discuss updates and resolve issues. 

Overview of Medicare Cost Reporting

The prospective payment system (PPS) for Medicare is unique to Community Health Centers and to receive payments for services rendered to Medicare patients, Health Centers must manage several aspects of the program to include establishing charges for G codes, geographic adjustment factors (GAF), and completing a cost report form.  This session will focus on the Medicare cost report form, providing an overview of the worksheets that need to be completed, the data that must be compiled to correctly complete the cost report, and a discussion as to why this form is still an important part of Medicare reimbursement.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a good understanding of how the Medicare cost report functions.
  • Learn about the data that must be maintained to be able to complete the cost report form.
  • Understand the importance of the Medicare cost report in the current reimbursement environment.
